Dotwall · last updated October 2026

Dotwall does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to us or to anyone else. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind.

Your pictures stay on your device

Dotwall reads only the pictures you open, drop or paste into it, and does all of its work — screening, proof sheets, face detection, previews and PDFs — on your Mac. Faces are found with Apple's on-device Vision framework, only to decide which areas of the picture to keep sharpest; nothing about them is stored or sent anywhere. Projects are saved as .dotwall files where you choose, and contain your picture and your settings.

Web version (dotwall.jmkr.es): the same engine runs inside your browser, compiled to WebAssembly. Your pictures are never uploaded. Where the browser offers on-device face detection, it is used the same way as on the Mac. To bring your poster back after a reload, the browser keeps your last picture and settings in its own local storage on your device; New poster clears it. The site is served by Cloudflare, which handles the usual technical request data (such as IP addresses) to deliver the page; we add no analytics or cookies.

Purchases and licensing

Mac App Store version: exporting and printing are unlocked with an in-app purchase processed by Apple; we never see your name, email or payment details. This version makes no connections to the internet. See Apple's privacy policy.

Direct download and web versions: licenses are sold by our reseller (Merchant of Record), Lemon Squeezy, whose privacy policy governs your payment data. To activate a license, the app sends your license key and a device label (your Mac's name, or your browser and system on the web) to Lemon Squeezy over an encrypted connection, so the same key can be limited to three devices. The web version checks the key again about once a week. Your pictures are never part of any connection.
